Happy Spring! Beltaine! May Day!

By Nicholas C. Katsikis

Deep in the heart of all wild places, in the air, the water and along the dew covered Earth, new life is taking hold. New beginnings and the energy of the Sun’s fire charges every cell, every atom. In everything the nutrient, rich light illuminates growth. Growing and changing are as close a bond to us as creatures of this Earth, as they are to the seasonal shifts.

The cross part of this year’s existence is seen the opposing colors of winter’s palate. In the harvest part of the year, Samhain, the fire festival of Autumn heralds Winter, and so too, shows off the mature life begun at Beltane in Spring. Sanguine and golden leaves, once fire red and lemon yellow begin to fall. Their dance of life promises the rebirth of the Sun and the rebirth of life to come in the following year. Explosions of color dance in the breeze. Wonderful hues, shades and diversities all celebrate their part in the balancing.

Also are the ancestors, ripe with merry making. We feel them in the stirrings of things to come. We feel their influence in plans laid down in the days following Mayday. For in this season of light, of fire and revelry; a fresh start and new adventures are waiting to see your particular soul dance. Listen to the music of life and the work around you. Hear the whispers of the Horned God in the call of wild things and beasts. See the Moon-clad Goddess in her splendor, at every flash of star light, in the glow, in the light of signaling fire flies. Vibrate to the sound of approaching Summer and in long days ahead. Just as the Jovial butterflies, moths, and carefree song birds herald the on coming of midsummer we too may join in the dance.

Join in the parade of creation and add your beat, your breath, your presence to the rhythm. Connect with nature, hold a baby, feed your inner fire.

For “behold there is magick all around you, awaken, rejoice and see”*

I have been through many fires and in them I have rose from the ashes, gracefully. I feel a lot like a phoenix. I am a character performer appearing as a Hobbit. I am a humanitarian. I am a passionate yogini. I have a background in scouting for all paths. I am the Publisher for DiversiTree and an author for Green Egg Webzine. I want to review YOUR festival, event, creative passion, performance, or whatever else makes your spirit shine.

I am genderqueer feminist with a passion for love, peace, and happiness. I am gender activist. I am radically out of the box about a lot of topics. I am a male impersonator. I am queer, polyamorous, and sex positive.

I have a deep burning passion to protect and possibly save the earth, our home planet. Because of my burning passion for the earth I am a committed vegetarian, organic gardner, and farming community supporter. I am an environmentalist and my heros are people like Jane Goodall & John Muir
